The play is entirely based on numerous interviews the author conducted with women about their vaginas, sex lives, and other related topics. Any definition has wide range of solutions, and all the answers sorted by letters of the alphabet, and by the number of words depending on the need.

My value judgment on the book would be that it potentially has entertainment and informational value, but I just happened to encounter it in the wrong medium. As a dedicated feminist and a person who wants to see violence against women and everyone stopped I was impressed and grateful for the Vagina Monologues. Fun in bits but gets a little heavy after a point. That is a fantastic and admirable cause and one I support, but one I feel The Vagina Monologues does not. Lisa Hill-Corley's character makes every man in the audience wish to be as appreciative a sexual connoisseur as is her boyfriend Bob.
